The prices of standards (also of draft versions) are fixed annually by the DIN e. V. Presidial Board. It is not the scope of a standard that determines its price but rather the effort involved in its creation. DIN is organized as a non-profit member-based association and is not allowed to make profit. Standardization work is largely financed by the sales of DIN Standards and DIN Media products. In this way, everyone who applies standards and derives an economic benefit from them contributes to the costs of producing standards.
